What Is A Low Pressure Water Chiller?

     The low pressure chiller contains the same construction as the high-pressure chiller: compressors, evaporators, condensers and netering units. Low pressure chillers usually use R-11, R-133 and R-123 as refrigerant. Most small capacity low pressure chillers with a capacity of less than 150 tons of cold all use R-133, and low pressure chillers with a capacity of more than 150 tons of cold often use R-11. The new low pressure chillers and those retrofitted chillers are now using R-123. Water chillers on special occasions also use R-114.

      From July.1st, 1992, it is illegal to put class CFC and HCFC refrigerants into the atmosphere . From Oct.15th, 1995, it is also illegal to put HFC and any other alternative refrigerant into the atmosphere. In addition, from Jan.1st, 1996, the use of class CFC refrigerants was prohibited. At the same time, it is illegal to produce class CFC refrigerants. R-11, R-113 and R-114 are all low pressure refrigerants, class CFC and R-123 are class HCFC refrigerants.
